Food Service Lead

Purpose of Food Service Lead position:

Ensuring sure that YAA’s food & hospitality services advance our mission of directing people to Jesus Christ and developing them to reflect His character. This mission is carried out by creating an environment conducive for guests and staff to have significant encounters with God. As well as maintaining and advancing high-quality food service experiences through contributive work in the kitchen. 

Food Service Lead Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

• Train under Guest Services Coordinator to learn YAA Kitchen guidelines, tasks and expectations 

• Oversee and execute the preparation of meals and dining hall set-up for up to 150 guests 

• Assist in the cleanup and maintenance of the kitchen and dining hall areas through food prep, dishwashing, sweeping, monitoring appliances, etc. 

• Offer help with menu creation and food ordering when needed 

• Offer creative problem-solving solutions to Guest Services Coordinator when needed 

• Oversee other students, staff or volunteers working in the YAA Kitchen 

Approximate time required by position: 

This is a seasonal, hourly position with a requirement to be available to work weekends and both shorter and longer than eight-hour shifts depending on seasons. Hours will be determined by the season and set by the Guest Services Coordinator. Minimum 15 hours of availability weekly required. 

Food Service Assistant 

Food Service Assistant Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

• Work under Guest Services Coordinator or Food Service Lead to learn YAA Kitchen guidelines, tasks and expectations 

• Meal preparation, assistance, and execution of food service for each meal 

• Assist in the cleanup and maintenance of the kitchen and dining hall areas through food prep, dishwashing, floor mopping etc. 

• Help with weekly laundry of kitchen rags, aprons etc. 

• Offer help with menu creation when needed 

• Offer creative problem-solving solutions to Guest Services Manager when needed 

• Oversight and responsibility of other students, staff or volunteers working in the YAA Kitchen 

Approximate time required by position: 

This is a seasonal, hourly position with a requirement to be available to work weekends and both shorter and longer than eight-hour shifts depending on seasons. Hours will be determined by the season and set by the Guest Services Coordinator. Minimum 15 hours of availability weekly required. 

Seasonal Program Assistant

Purpose of the Seasonal Program Assistant position:

Support the programs of the season in which you are hired. This role is expected to carry out their role with a high focus of advancing our mission of directing people to Jesus Christ and developing them to reflect His character. This mission is carried out by creating an environment for guests and staff to have significant encounters with God. As well as maintaining and advancing high-quality activity experiences through contributive work with the program team and around the grounds.

Seasonal Program Assistant Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

Train under Outreach & Ministries Manager to learn YAA Program guidelines, tasks and expectations 

Support all things programs. Maintenance of various Activity Areas, Grounds, and Guest Experiences.

Assist in Hospitality, whether by hosting events, supporting the kitchen, or having meaningful conversations with guests, we expect this role to be people focused and engage whenever possible.

Grow Spiritually. You will be part of a team of people who are not only supporting the programs, but growing in your spiritual walk, through study, conversation, and prayer. 

Offer creative problem-solving solutions to Outreach & Ministries Manager when needed 

Oversee other students, staff or volunteers working at YAA programmed events

Approximate time required by position: 

This is a seasonal, salary position with a requirement to be available to work weekdays & weekends and both shorter and longer than eight-hour shifts depending on the season. Hours will be determined by the season and set by the Outreach & Ministries Manager.
