Canyon Echoes | Fall 2026

Canyon Echoes is Yellowstone Alliance Adventures’ publication, sharing stories from camp, ministry updates, upcoming opportunities, and the people who make YAA such a meaningful place.

Our Fall 2026 issue looks back on a summer of camp experiences, celebrates the growth of our year-round programs, and reflects on the relationships and moments that continue to shape life at YAA.

Inside the Fall 2026 Issue

Reflections on a Season of Change

In this issue’s Director’s Corner, Jim Hawthorne reflects on 31 years of serving at YAA and the leadership transition ahead. With gratitude for the people who have shaped this season of ministry, he shares about trusting God through change and looking toward the next chapter with faith and courage.

Gathering Around the Table

In her reflection, Andrea Hawthorne shares how the YAA camp kitchen and dining hall became much more than a place to prepare and serve meals. Over 31 years, it became a place to practice hospitality, build relationships, share rich conversations, and participate in the work of discipleship.

Inspired by a song she heard this summer, Andrea reflects on the power of gathering around a table—and the opportunity to help people find connection, light, and hope in a world that can feel lonely.

Growing Through the Ridge Leadership Initiative

Our first Ridge Leadership Initiative cohort is off to a strong start! Four interns are gaining hands-on experience in year-round camp ministry while growing through mentorship, discipleship, service, and life in community. From supporting LEAP preschool to helping prepare for retreats and seasonal events, they're discovering the many ways God can use their gifts in ministry.

Looking Back on Summer Day Camps

Summer 2026 brought four weeks of Day Camp adventures as campers explored what it means to follow God's wisdom through the story of Israel's journey to Mount Sinai. Through our TREK theme, creative storytelling, activities, and time together, campers were invited to consider God's character and who He created them to be.

Celebrating the YAA Community

This issue also includes updates from YAA alumni, a look at the beginning of another year for LEAP Little Explorers Adventure Preschool, and news from our recent Harvest Market. These stories offer a glimpse into the many ways our YAA community continues to grow and stay connected.

Stay Connected with YAA

Whether you've been part of YAA for decades or are just getting to know us, we're grateful you're here. Thank you for being part of a community that supports meaningful experiences, lasting connections, and opportunities to direct people to Jesus Christ.
